Building Independence, Confidence & a Lifelong Love of Learning

At PLM, our Casa Program is designed to support the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically—during the most formative years of early childhood. Rooted in authentic Montessori principles, our Casa classroom is a rich and engaging learning environment where children develop independence, confidence, and foundational academic skills. Our program encourages hands-on exploration, critical thinking, and a deep love for learning. Through this approach, children develop a strong academic foundation while fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.

Language & Literacy

Children are introduced to phonics-based reading and writing using tactile materials like sandpaper letters and movable alphabets. Activities are designed to:

  • Build vocabulary and verbal expression

  • Support letter-sound recognition and phonemic awareness

  • Develop early reading, spelling, and writing skills

  • Encourage storytelling and creative expression

Cultural Studies & Science

Our Casa children gain a deeper understanding of the world around them through topics like:

  • Geography: continents, countries, landforms, maps

  • Zoology and botany: animals, plant life, life cycles

  • Physical science: experiments, nature walks, seasonal studies

  • Cultural celebrations from around the world

Mathematics

Using beautifully designed Montessori materials, children progress from concrete to abstract understanding of numbers and math concepts. They work hands-on with:

  • Counting, quantity recognition, and number symbols

  • Place value and the decimal system

  • Simple addition, subtraction, multiplication & division

  • Pattern recognition and sequencing

French Language Program

French is introduced through songs, stories, visuals, and interactive games. Children begin to:
